My name is Trevor Evans. Raised on the coast of South Africa as the grandson of a Swiss emigrant, and now happily settled with my young family in Piazzogna — a place that brings together everything I love: nature, community, and the water.
Growing up in Cape Town, the water was a constant in my life. I swam and surfed daily, worked as a lifeguard and kayaking guide, and developed a connection to the sea that has never left me. After finishing high school, I completed an intensive sail training course off the South African coastline, followed by an Atlantic Ocean crossing from Rio de Janeiro to Cape Town. Back in my hometown of Knysna, I then spent two years building a 46-foot wood and epoxy catamaran and a house alongside a school friend — an experience that taught me patience, precision, and the satisfaction of making something with your own hands.
In 2004 I moved to Switzerland, joining a company in Pfäffikon SZ where I progressed from internal services to deputy head of the facilities department. From there I took on full facility management responsibility at a Zürich startup — overseeing maintenance, repairs, office commissioning, and the day-to-day running of multiple sites. A growing interest in technology led me to a role in IT Systems Administration at an IT security firm in Bern, where I managed data centres and new system installations alongside my facilities responsibilities.
We moved to Ticino to give our son a childhood close to nature and the lake — and it was the right decision. Today, I sail my Hobie 16 on Lake Maggiore whenever the wind allows, and I have built a life that reflects the values I have always held: reliability, attention to detail, and genuine care for the things and people in my charge.
Trevor Evans Services is the natural next step — bringing together everything I have learned across facilities management, property care, and hands-on practical work into a bespoke service for homeowners and boat owners in and around Gambarogno who expect the highest standard of care.
